January 11th marks our 9th birthday as a website here
on the internet. What a fast year it's was too. It
seems the older we get, the faster the time goes!
2009 ended with the lost of two special people in the Irwin Allen community. Bob May the man inside the Lost in Space Robot passed away. What a dear friend Bob was to so many people. He loved his fans and greeted everyone with a special smile, an autograph, and a Robot memory. We also losted Del Monrow a Seaview crew member from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both these dear individual families.
![]() It was also a great year when it came to Irwin Allen collectibles. The fans wanted more lic. items, and they got them too! Moebius did a fantastic job reissuing many of the old Aurora kits from the 1960's. Not to mention coming out with a few new ones like the Space Pod, Chariot, Mini Flying Sub, and a awesome Jupiter-2 kit coming out in early 2010. Sci-Fi Metro also released some cool action figures on Lost in Space, a replica mini Robot B-9 and other items coming out soon. Hallmark was very quite on the November 2009 Robby the Robot Christmas ornament, which delighted any Forbidden Planet fan, and or Robot collector. Some new books also were released late this past year on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and two updated revised Lost in Space books by Flint Mitchell. Great reading and a must have for you die hard fans. I was very lucky to have connected with several over sea collectors from Argentina. I was able to obtain some first time ever collectible items from this country. Very rare tray puzzles, spinning tops, rings, and postage stamps. I hope to continue a good relationship with these dealers, and showcase much more this upcoming season. Each week we update, and post the very best on collectibles, rare photos, info and news of interest. This is not always easy, but we are committed to bring you the very best for your collecting needs. Thanks again to Kirk Roderick for always being there each Sunday with my endless work and updates. Special thanks to all of you for supporting the site, your e-mails, and feeback. Not to mention sharing all those great fan made items, and keeping me posted on items of interest worth sharing with others. Let's hope that 2010 brings peace to the world. People getting back to work, and in there homes. We are living in tough times, together we will make it through, as we always do in this great country we call America.
