Born in Altrincham, Cheshire, England, Angela moved to the USA with her family when she was 3 years old.

She began modelling for TV and magazine advertisements almost as soon as she arrived in the US. Then she was cast as the cute little stepdaughter, Linda Williams, on "Make Room for Daddy" (1953). She was on the show from 1957 to 1964. Following this, she was cast as Brigitta von Trapp in the popular Julie Andrews movie "The Sound of Music" (1965), for which she won critical acclaim.

Soon after, Angela returned to series television as Penny Robinson, young teenage space traveler in "Lost in Space" (1965), which ran from 1965-68. In 1970, Angela had a part in the sequel to her original show "Danny Thomas in Make Room for Granddaddy" (1970), but the show was soon canceled. In 1997 when "Lost In Space" was revived as a movie, Angela was invited back and appeared as a reporter in a cameo role. A favourite actress in Irwin Allen's complement of stars, Angela also appeared in some of the "Master of Disaster's" movies.

Today, Angela has become a popular children's photographer. She set up a photographic studio in California, "Rubber Boots", which is also a gallery for her photographic works and artwork as well as sporting a retail arm, which is now accessible on the internet. Apart from her photography and art, she is also a novelist and occasional actress.

Angela is the younger sister of actress Veronica Cartwright (The Birds, Alien, etc.). She married Steve Gullion in 1975 and has two children, a boy, Jesse, and a girl, Rebecca.
