The Batcave from the 1960s Batman TV series was filmed at the Bronson Caves in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, California. While the interior was a set, the iconic exterior entrance used for shots of the Batmobile speeding out was this specific cave. The actual cave is much smaller than it appeared on screen, and the footage was often sped up to create the illusion of speed.
Location: Bronson Caves, located in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, at the end of Canyon Drive.
Filming techniques: The entrance was filmed using techniques like slow motion and speeding up the footage to make the cave appear larger and the Batmobile faster.
Function: In the show, the Batcave served as Batman and Robin's headquarters, housing their vehicles and equipment. The exterior of Bronson Cave was used to represent this entrance.
Other uses: The Bronson Caves have been used in many other productions, including Wonder Woman and the Superman serial.
