LAND OF THE GIANTS ORIGINAL YOUNG-LUND COSTUME DRAWINGS |
Updated: March 15, 2025
An incredible original costume design from the landmark of Irwin Allen's science-fiction television series of the 1960's entitled
"Land of the Giants". This is of actress Heather Young. It is comprised of a mimeographed outline of Heather Young's body, with
the costume drawn on in color by hand. There is also a swatch of material stapled on the side of the design of the material used
to make her costume! There are also penciled in measurements and other writing. The second drawing is of the beautiful Deanna Lund.
Comprised of a mimeographed image of Deanna Lund's body, with the costume drawn in pencil. This was a very early draft of her
costume and therefore is extremely rare. These items came from a personal collection of Sci-fi Hollywood, where the previous owner obtained them from. These original drawings were designed and drawn by Paul Zastupnevich. Who designed many clothes for Irwin Allen's shows / films over the years. I purchase these from Fuller French on 11/30/00 of Los Angeles, California.
An extremely rare, original costume design art sketch's for Irwin Allen's production of, Land of the Giants! This rare art is a preliminary sketch for the character of Valerie Ames Scott, played by Deanna Lund. She was the socialite heiress passenger aboard
the Spindrift!
This art would be done as a preliminary, where art director and costume designer extraordinaire, Paul Zastupnevich would work over a
light studio stat or xerox and add different interpretative design sketches. Here, he seems to be working out her final costume. the medium is pencil and stat. One art drawing is signed in pencil by Paul Z. and may also be signed by Deanna Lund who adds, Land of
the Giants! at the top in pencil. It seems to be her signature, but i cannot be certain. The art measures roughly, 8 1/2" x 10 1/2". There is some creasing and very light aging, but over all the pieces are in great shape.
Original production artwork from the 1960's Irwin Allen television production is extremely rare.
Value: $1,500. ( Each )
