I DREAM OF JEANNIE RESIN KIT #1 |
Updated: May 18, 2005
BARBARA EDEN - I DREAM OF JEANNIE - RARE RESIN MODEL -
Basically a hybrid of "Bewitched," the '60's sitcom known as
"I Dream of Jeannie" was another smash hit, running on air for
six years and 139 episodes.
Astronaut Larry Hagman finds a genie in a bottle, a luscious
lovely possessing limitless magical powers. Young and perky
Barbara Eden portrayed Jeannie, scantily dressed in colorful
Arabian veils and a pillbox hat.
Shown here is the sultry Ms. Eden, handsomely realized as a
limited edition resin model. This fine garage kit was produced
nearly a decade ago by the short-lived company, Southern Fried
Resin, and happens to be the only resin model ever produced of
Eden's Jeannie. Popular as the model was, it was soon
discontinued due to a cease and desist order, with less than
50 castings having ever been produced.
It's a terrific sculpture, with an accurate likeness, fine
proportions, and a well designed pose. The sculpt was done by
Tom & Joy studios, and is surely their best effort in the
resin figure arena. Jeannie holds her mystical lamp in
offering, provocatively poised on her flying magic carpet. A
1/6 scale model, the figure stands approx. 11 1/2" tall when
assembled, and certainly commands attention on display.
Slickly cast in solid white resin, the kit is a simple build,
requiring almost no prep before painting.
Jeannie is complete, unbuilt, and comes packaged in her
original box, just waiting for a new master to light up her
Arabian nights. So, go ahead, make a wish!
Value: $170. (Unbuilt)
