I pulled my custom Jetpack John Robinson off the shelf the other day just to see what he looked like next to the recent Executive Replicas First Season John Robinson figure. Now just to be clear, there's really no comparison. The ER figure is head and shoulders above my meager attempt. On the other hand, I have had the joy of seeing mine on the shelf for almost a decade, which I guess counts for something. The ER figure itself is taller, as are all their guys. My custom used the older Sci-Fi Metropolis figure.

Interestingly, their Jetpack looks to be based on the studio prop built for the show as opposed to the Bell Rocket Belt which did the actual flight scenes at Trona Pinnacles. I based my custom on the Bell version, which explains the differences. I think the color of my outfit might be a little closer to the actual costume but the ER clothes have a very nice, snug fit. Their softer fabric choice also allows for much greater possibility. The oddest difference ( to me at least ) is the lack of streamers on the ER helmet. I may add them, although I'd hate to tamper with such a beautiful piece. I'd definitely put the ER version a couple of notches above mine, but I'm still very happy to have both.
