CHARIOT HAND CARVED DIORAMA

Updated: July 21, 2022

While there is no dating on the object, this diorama appears to have been made during the run of the show in the late sixties. Carved and cut out of wood measuring up to an inch thick and then hand-painted with a slightly amateurish yet determined attention to detail. Of special note is the hinged rear door which really opens and closes!

Standing in front of the Chariot and likewise crafted from wood is a 4 inch Class B-9-M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot, ready to alert small boys about danger be it from unknown alien life forms of the dastardly plans of Dr. Smith. It's a large diorama, measuring an impressive 16 inches wide by 9 inches high and 9 inches in depth. Weight is around 6 pounds or so.

It has weathered the advance of time in remarkably good condition with no major gouges, tears, cracks or breaks to the wood. Detractions noted include missing/broken lights from the top of the chariot, and one missing strut at the very bottom of the ladder.

Value: $350.
