ROBOT B-9 DIORAMA'S #01

This section will include custom built-up and different painted kits of the B-9 Robot from "Lost in Space" TV series. (*) Unless noted, all kits posted here are painted and built by model craftsman David Gutierrez, and Jerry VonMueller, & Stuart Smith.

Photos 1,2,3,4,5,6, our newest additional to this gallery. A great diorama built by England model builder Stuart Smith. Custom alien planet base for that realism effect.

Photos 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16, built and painted by Joe V. Riley of Dallas Texas. A special alien rock base was added to this diorama. Also moveable torso and arms add to this special B-9er.

Photos 17,18,19,20, built and painted by Jerry VonMueller. A light switch was added for that great special effect look. Photos, 21,22,23, built and painted by David Gutierrez. Done in 2nd & 3rd season colors from the show.

Photos 24,25,26, based on the 1st season black & white episodes. This reissued kit was done in different grey tone colors, by David Gutierrez.

Photos 27,28,29,30, another kit by Polar Lights and done by David Gutierrez. The Robot chest area was painted red instead of the clear plastic normally left unpainted by most model builders.

Photos 31,32,33,34, is an original Aurora kit. A wooden base & engraved name plate is included in this diorama. I obtained this kit from a "Toy Shop" auction several years ago. The owner had many Aurora kits in his collection and spent a small fortune to special detail to each kit made.

Photos 35,36,37,38,39, reissued kit is based on the classic "Anti-Matter-Man" episode & built by Jerry VonMueller.

Photos, 40,41,42,43, a scratch built Robot based on the ABC-TV LIS cartoon special. Built and painted by Jerry VonMueller of New York.

Photos 44,45,46,47, an updated version for 2002 and beyond. Model Builder Jerry VonMueller spent hours adding many new features to this one-of-a-kind robot.

Photos 48,49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56,57, is yet another Polar Lights kit. This comes from the model studio of Glenn Rodriguez of Brookfield, Illinois. A very nice neat and clean paint job, any Robot lover would be proud of. The bottom of the base is completely felted for that final touch. The arms and torso also moves and rotates for a new poses in week.

Photos 58,59, are promotional photos from the Polar Lights company.

Photos 60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74, are additional photos from Stuart Smith of the UK. As to Stuart's previous Spindrift diorama which was featured on our website. This was the first Robot B-9 kit Stuart ever did. His work is marvelous, and we hope to see more of his work in the near future.
