A prototype for a plastic model of the Jupiter-2 spacecraft from Irwin Allen's classic series Lost in Space ( CBS, 1965-68 ),
including the plastic ship body and over 20 unassembled pieces. The item is housed in a box labeled "Sci-Fi Metropolis 18"
Jupiter-2 Prototype." The company Sci-Fi Metropolis produced 4' and 24" Jupiter-2 models. This prototype may never have gone into
mass production.
The late Kevin Burns, Executive Producer of Netflix's Lost in Space reboot ( Netflix, 2018-21 ), developer of several other Lost in Space projects with Synthesis Entertainment, and a friend of the original series cast, was responsible for the development and production of a lot of contemporary merchandising related to Irwin Allen's classic projects.
