B-9 ROBOT FAN REPLICA'S #04 (B9 CREATIONS) |
Updated: March 10, 2026
A light-up, life-size B9 Environmental Control Robot animatronic replica from B9Creations for the television series Lost in Space. Alpha Control purchased and included an Environmental Control Robot for the mission Jupiter-2 undertook to help the Robinsons colonize an Earth like planet. After it was sabotaged by Dr. Zachary Smith ( Jonathan Harris ) pre-flight and resulted in the Jupiter-2 crash-landing on an alien planet, the Robot ( Bob May ) became protective of the Robinsons, especially the youngest of the crew, Will ( Bill Mumy ). Over time, the Robot gained self awareness and control that allowed it to be capable of programming new skills and abilities.
The well loved Robot from Lost in Space became a catalyst for hobbyist robot builders who founded the B9 Robot Builders Club in 1998. Michael Joyce, founder of B9Creations, fabricated robot parts for other builders for lower costs than what was in the market. Eventually, B9Creations also began to produce full 1:1 replicas for purchase. The fully licensed B9 Creations Robots were replicated from original molds and reference materials of the original Robot. Of the 62 robots created, one robot is displayed at the Kennedy Space Center. The design for the B9 robot was created by Robert Kinoshita, who was well known for his robots during the 1950s and 1960s.
This robot replica with serial number "047 0F 150" is made of fiberglass and steel, with components made of silicone rubber and clear plastic. It is fully animatronic, featuring motorized torso rotation, moving ear sensors, crown, and illuminated finger lights. The chest panel lights up in sync with the robot's dialogue, which includes over 500 recorded phrases, some of which were specially recorded by original series voice actor Dick Tufeld. The robot also includes internal speakers, movable claws, and treads for mobility. This lot exhibits chipped paint and scuffing on the claws. Dimensions: 26" x 30" x 78" ( 66 cm x 76.25 cm x 198.25 cm )
Value: $25,000.
