ORIGINAL JONATHAN HARRIS COSTUME DRAWING (3RD SEASON) |
Updated: April 17, 2024
A very rare Lost in Space color copy ( of very few made ) is a scarcely seen conceptual drawing of a colorful 3rd Season costume
design for the memorable character, Dr. Zachary Smith. To our knowledge, this piece may have never been seen by Lost in Space enthusiasts before...until now! The color Xerox copy of the original Paul Zastupnevich hand-colored, pencil and ink drawing,
measures 8 1/2" wide by 11" tall a depicts different version of the final costume design for Dr. Smith, used for the 3rd season of
the hit television series.
This version would have been tailored in carbon-steel colored fabric, the sleeves are adorned with pink piping. As is the turtleneck dickie, which would have been an olive green color. The original image, of which this is a copy, also featured a 3 fabric swatch sample, stapled to its upper left corner, that is so clear on the color Xerox copy, it appears to be a photograph. To the right of Smith, Paul Z. had written on the original: "Jonathan Harris as Smith."
Value: $100.
