ORIGINAL KEEPER SPACESHIP DRAWING #02 |
Updated: June 11, 2011
"Here's history in the making!" These are 5 original drawings
combined from the 2 part episode, "THE KEEPER" staring guest star,
Michael Rennie as the Keeper. These drawings have gone through many
hands over the years. Remember that these drawings are over 40 years
old. It was difficult to get clean photos off of these for the aging
of the paper, pencil drawing fading, and the many folds within the
artwork. These 22 photos display the set on studio #5 back in 1965.
Prior to filming these drawings show, The Keeper's ship interior,
monster pit area, alien planet landscaping area, trap cages, Keeper
figure drawing, Jupiter-2 campsite, Jupiter-2 upper level interior,
and even actors standing marks. The studio would make mimeograhed
copies of the soundstage setup prior to shooting. The drawings are
dated December 13, 1965 and measures approximately 3 1/2 by 4 feet
long. Many of these original drawings were given away, sold off
through auction houses, or just thrown away during the years.
In 2001 I purchase an original set drawing of the interior of the
Jupiter-2. After the eBay auction ended and I paid for the item. I
was informed that the drawing was stolen from the studio about 18
years ago, and had to return it back to the proper people requesting
it. I have heard stories from several individuals that this was a
fact back in the mid 1980's. There are also many fakes being sold in
the market place.
These drawings were purchased from a personal collection through
SCIFIHOLLYWOOD, and are guaranteed authentic. I plan to restore these
and preserve them with proper framing in which they deserve. I
purchase these drawings from prop dealer Fuller French of Los Angeles,
California on November 30, 2000.
Value: $5,000 (for the set of 5)
