ORIGINAL MARK GODDARD COSTUME DRAWING (3RD SEASON) |
Updated: March 18, 2020
A very rare Lost in Space color copy (of very few made) is a scarcely
seen conceptual drawing of a colorful 3rd Season costume design for
the character, Major Don West, the daring pilot of the Jupiter-2.
To our knowledge, this piece has never been seen by Lost
in Space enthusiasts before... until now!
The color Xerox copy of the original Paul Zastupnevich
hand-colored, pencil and ink drawing, measures 8 1/2" wide by 11"
tall a depicts different version of the final costume design
used for the 3rd season of the hit television series.
The hunter green aspect of Major West's costume would become a
lime green and in this different version of the design, the
sleeves are adorned with pink piping. The costume's turtleneck
dickie is also pink and features purple piping. The original
illustration of this image also bore a 3 fabric swatch sample
stapled to its upper left corner, which is also pictured on
this color Xerox copy, and is so clearly depicted it appears
to be a photograph.
To the right of Goddard, Paul Z. had written on the original:
"Mark Goddard as Don."
Value: $100.
