CARTOON REGIONAL TV GUIDE |
Updated: June 08, 2023
One of the greatest things about collecting and searching for items on eBay, is you never know what's out there? This exciting
items pretty much tells the story, when it comes to true golden treasurers. First ever is this rare Regional TV guide supplement
from the Pittsburgh Press Sunday Newspaper. ( The Pittsburgh Press is now defunct, adding to the value of this scare item ). The Pittsburgh Press TV graphic supplement is from Sunday March 24, 1968, it is app. 11" x 13" in size and has 23 pages, features a fantastic color caricature cover of the "Lost in Space" characters, Jonathan Harris who played Dr. Smith, Billy Mumy who played
young Will Robinson, and of course the Robot. ( Cover art done by John Johns )
The Press' TV Graphic was famous for its great caricature artwork on the covers, and being that these supplements were from
newspaper pulp ( cover semi-glossy ) they are extremely scares as they were either readily discarded in the trash or have
deteriorated to the point that they just crumble, so it is very rare to find a survivor such as this one. I am sad to report that
I lost this item by $5.00. I was in L.A. for the Guy Williams Star Ceremony when this auction ended. This was truly one awesome
piece. The item sold on August 1, 2001 for $306.00.
