LOST IN SPACE CONTACT SHEETS #02 |
Updated: November 03, 2023
Lost in Space is a science fiction themed TV series produced by television producer Irwin Allen for the American television network CBS. The show ran for three seasons, with eighty three first run original episodes airing between September 15, 1965 and
March 6, 1968, replacing the short lived World War One TV series. A pilot episode without the robot or the Dr. Smith character, was filmed but never broadcast.
The series was the most expensive in television broadcast history. Each episode was estimated to cost $400,000, quite a sum in the
mid sixties. It remained the most expensive tv series ever until Space: 1999. Many of the contact sheets featured here are quite
rare. In fact, many of these have never been seen by the public or fans until now. There were many film shots or out-takes taken on
the series, and the actors. So many taken, that many of the shots were taken for promotional use, but later never used either do to cost, or cancellation of the show? Regardless of there value or purpose, these contact sheets today are very collectible and
valueable in the hands of collectors.
