ORIGINAL WILLIAM HURT FLIGHT COSTUME |
Updated: July 21, 2007
This is the original costume worn by actor William Hurt in the 1998 movie. The costume is complete with jacket, pants, boots, and a replacment grey t-shirt. This costume was worn throughout the entire film. The jacket is the most interesting with the special rubber insignia's. They are hand made painted rubber that include, Jupiter-2, John Robinson badge, ranking bar code, Jupiter-2 Mission, and the A.S.O.M.A.C. on the right shoulder. I first found out about this costume by prop collector Jerry Franceschi in December 2000. He brought the costume over to my house to look at. I was very impressed with this costume, and wanted to add it to my collection. I had to pass on it do to other problems at the time. A month later, I was contacted by the owner of the costume which I knew, offering me the costume. As well as one of the original jackets from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". It is a small world out there isn't it! I was also offered several uniforms on Wil Weaton from "Star Trek the next Generation" but just could not afford it. The William Hurt costume came from the same seller as the original orange pants worn by Angela Cartwright from the 2nd season on "Lost in Space". I would like to thank, Jerry Franceschi of Marin County Calif. and Ken Calis of Orange County Calif. for helping me add this original costume to my collection. I Purchased this complete costume in January 2001.
