MEMORY LANE ROBERT VANDERPOOL (UNCLE ODIE) |
Updated: February 12, 2018
Recently my mom and I were digging out old photo albums and
I found some childhood photos of me, and other items in my
life. Even an old 1979 "Youth Bowling Association" (YBA)
newspaper with me on the front page congratulating me
on my perfect "300" game. I was a good kid, loving sports,
animals, art, haiting girls, and playing games with our
friends. Not to mention collecting Archie comic books,
watching TV reruins such as Lost in Space, Voyage, Batman,
Combat, Rat Patrol, Green Hornet, just to name a few.
The 60's and 70's was a great time being a kid. You played
with toys not collect them. Toys were so cool and so
different than the toys made today. I remember my brother
got the GI Joe and the Remco Robot. MY other brother a Creepy
Crawler playset, and my sisiter got a Easy Bake Oven that
cooked food with a 100 watt light bulb. And the food taste
like burnt cardboard. I collected stamps with my Grandmother,
and loved teaching bowling to kids of all ages.
I hope you enjoy this new photo gallery to our newest addition
to our website, more to come!!!!
