PLANET OF THE APES ORIGINAL DR. ZAIUS COSTUME DRAWING |
Updated: July 14, 2005
Morton Haack costume sketch of Dr. Zaius for Planet of the Apes. (TCF,
1968) Original sketch of Dr. Zaius wearing a white tunic with leather
accents in a cross-stitch pattern, with matching pants and shoes,
accomplished in gouache and ink on a 16 in. x 20 in. leaf of artist's
illustration paper, and signed in black ink by Haack at the lower right.
This is a conceptual design, created during the development stages of the
film, as the final version was tan/orange in color. An impressive
illustration showing what "might have been" in this great film! The
artistry is exceptional, and piece is suitable for framing and prominent
display.
