FORBIDDEN PLANET 3D ART #02 |
Updated: January 22, 2024
The illustrator Luca Oleastri present here his best fantastic and original 3D art, here is "Robby the Robot" from his Forbidden
Planet" inspired series Forbidden Planet is a 1956 science fiction film and a subsequent novelization by W.J. Stuart. The film
features a number of spectacular special effects ( Oscar nominated ), groundbreaking use of an all-electronic music score, and the first screen appearance of the famous Robby the Robot.
For over forty years Robby the Robot has undoubtedly remained the most famous, and adored movie robot of all time. Making his film
debut in 1956, in Hollywood's first multi-million dollar science-fiction epic "Forbidden Planet"; Robby starred alongside Leslie Nielson, Walter Pidgeon and Anne Francis costing the MGM prop-shop over $125,000 to construct ( although Anne Francis swears it
cost MGM over a million to make Robby ).
In 1957 Robby appeared in his second motion picture, "The Invisible Boy", starring Philip Abbott and Richard Eyer. Segueing from
big screen productions Robby made an effortless, and successful transition into television; where he later starred in many classic shows. These credits include his appearances in many popular series such as "The Thin Man", "Lost in Space", "The Twilight Zone",
"The Addams Family", "The Love Boat", "Columbo", "Mork and Mindy", and "Clueless" to name a few.
Portraited here is Robby the Robot the most famous robot of the silverscreen. The artwork displayed here, made totally by Luca
Oleastri using 3D CGI, is my original tribute to this great sci-fi & erotic illustrator.
Value: $75.
