Believe it or not, this is the original design of the sci-fi classic "Robby the Robot" from Forbidden Planet. It was possible that either the studio was not happy with the design or, designer Robert Kinoshita was not satisfied with Robby's head and re-did it as we all know it today?

This 1986 Japanese toy from Hobbyworld / Masudaya was re-modified by a fan, with the original designed head with the original body. The original Robby head design was never used on Robby, but was used on another sci-fi movie ( Can't think of the title at the moment? ) in which space alien Robots were attacking Earth in some late 1950's B-movie.
