ARMAGEDDON CHICK'S ORIGINAL LIGHT-UP HERO SPACESUIT |
Updated: March 23, 2025
Chick's ( Will Patton ) light-up hero spacesuit from Michael Bay's sci-fi adventure Armageddon. Chick wore his spacesuit as he, Harry Stamper ( Bruce Willis ) and the crew of the Freedom planted a nuclear bomb on the surface of an asteroid to prevent it from destroying the Earth.
Constructed primarily from a heavy-weave, nylon-like material, the costume comprises a grey fiberglass helmet featuring a wide acrylic visor; a metal-and-resin collar; a front-and-back pack; a long-sleeved top and a pair of trousers that connect via a zip around the waist; a pair of gloves with metal locking rings; a utility belt; and a pair of modified Vans boots covered in dress-up components ( Labelled "Chick, Size 10" ).
Most of the pieces have the character name "Chick" handwritten on the interior, and the suit features highly detailed metal, plastic and resin adornments. The backpack is marked "Ballast" and "Harry", suggesting that it belonged to Willis' character.
Powered by an elaborate battery system, electronic components are fitted within the helmet, chest and backpack, allowing them to illuminate with multiple LEDs. Demisting fans are housed inside the pack, linking to the helmet to supply the wearer with plenty of air and ventilation while performing on set. The electronics can be powered by a 12V power supply, which is not included in the lot. The costume was intentionally distressed for production, and the gloves remain in a fragile condition.
Value: $8,000.
