2006-10-14 - BILL MUMY IN CONCERT |
Updated: October 25, 2006
Bill Mumy & Band in Concert:
Rusty's Surf Ranch, Santa Monica, CA
October 14th, 2006 9:00 PM
The band is Chris Ross (drums), Bill Wasson (bass), Chris Verosy (keyboards),
Stephen Patt (guitars, pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar) and Bill Mumy
(guitar, harmonica)
It was Saturday night at Rusty's, and I was ready for the show. New friend
Ron Middlekauf, ol' pal Robert "Uncle Odie" Vanderpool and I arrived together
about 8:30 PM. Another good friend Glennda Kountz, who is in charge of
Bill Mumy's Official Fan Club and a close personal friend of his, was also at
a table in front with her husband Don and friend Linda. I said my hellos,
and at 9:15 sharp, the show started.
Bill Mumy and Band were alive and rockin' with some great songs of old, new and
VERY new! One of the songs made its debut right there on the stage. Bill said
they had written it only the previous Wednesday! All the band members really
have their act together. Everyone was electric, and the music was sweet. They
really sound incredible live. I was fortunate enough to be right up front, as
my friend Glennda generously asked me to come sit at her table, allowing me to
get some great pictures of Bill and the band. The music was hot, the band's
chemistry was great, and a good time was had by all.
After the show, Glennda invited me to join her and some of her friends out back.
I got the chance to tell Bill how much I enjoyed the show. He thanked me for
coming and said, "You gotta come out again and see us." I quickly replied,
"Absolutely!" Before Bill took off, his lovely daughter Lilliana came over to
talk to Glennda and Linda. I introduced myself, and wished her well in her
career. Lilliana is a real up-and-coming actress in her own right.
I could not have had a better time Saturday night listening to a terrific live
band, with great friends at Rusty's. I am already anticipating the next show!
