Star Trek: The Animated Series" ( 1973-74 ) When the original Star Trek was prematurely canceled in the 1960s, fans begged for it to come back. Their prayers were ( sort of ) answered with this animated series, which featured the voices of the original USS Enterprise crew, and featured some new characters and aliens never seen before. For hard-core Trekkers, this series is an essential bridge between the original show and the movie universe that would arrive in the late 1970's.
