STAR TREK POSTAL STAMPS & SOUVENIR SHEETS #01 |
Updated: January 08, 2021
Since its debut in 1966, Star Trek has inspired an additional four television series and a dozen motion pictures. Conceived as a "Wagon Train to the stars" by creator Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek has reflected the cultural and political issues of the present day while imagining a future where space travel is an everyday routine and worlds have overcome the need for war. Its influence has expanded beyond the bounds of television and science fiction, being cited as an inspiration for several technological innovations such as cell phones, tablet computers, and GPS trackers. The TV and movie series have won numerous awards for excellence in writing, acting and production.
Over the years many countries have issued postal stamps showing tribute to Star Trek both the new and old TV series, and numerous movies. This page shows stamps, and souvenir sheets that have been issued.
