Nichelle Nichols "Lt. Uhura" Engineering Instrument from Episode "Who Mourns for Adonis?" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original prop instrument, a lathed, grooved 12" x 1.25" acrylic wand with steel needle at the front and gray electrical cord emanating from the back ( cord is seen on screen, but prop was never electrified ). The instrument is used by Uhura ( Nichols ) to repair circuitry on the Bridge of the USS Enterprise while Spock supervises. Exhibiting age, production handling, and rubbing. Exhibited at the legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993.
