Parasite Creature from Episode, "Operation: Annihilate!" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original disc-shaped parasite sculpted and constructed from silicone rubber to appear like a translucent, headless lifeform. These dangerous, single-celled flying creatures were encountered by the crew at the Deneva Federation colony where they would attack the inhabitants by injecting tissue to their spinal column, causing excruciating pain and inevitable madness and death. The parasite measures 8" x 10" x 1.5". Exhibited at the legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993. Exhibiting age, minor tears and intentional studio distress. Silicone remains very supple.
