M-113 "Salt Vampire" Creature ( 2 ) Face Castings from Episode, "The Man Trap" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage castings from the original production molds of the terrifying alien "Salt Vampire" that appeared in the very
first Star Trek episode to be televised, "The Man Trap." Includes ( 1 ) hollow grey fiberglass head casting measuring 10" x 9" x 7.5" and ( 1 ) white plaster face casting measuring 9" x 7" x 4.5". The Salt Vampire design was created by legendary sculptor / designer
Wah Chang who designed other iconic TOS creatures, such as the Gorn, the Balok effigy, and the Taurus II humanoids. The fiberglass
head has a very rough seam between the detailed face portion and the smooth back of the head portion and rough edges at the neck.
Both pieces exhibit age, chipping, wear and some soiling.
