Vian Controller Device from Episode, "The Empath" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original
hand prop constructed of carved wooden body with tooled aluminum handle and wooden grip. Expertly studio painted in industrial
grays and embellished with affixed acrylic, multi-colored static buttons, and a gold foil embossed grill on the bottom. Highly
visible as a central plot device used by the "Vian" aliens on the planet Minara II. Spock ( Leonard Nimoy ) uses one of these
devices in the Enterprise crew's attempt to escape the Vians. The 4.5" x 3.5" x 3.5" prop exhibits age, production wear, and
handling. Exhibited at the legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993.
