STAR TREK TNG ORIGINAL COBRA HEAD PHASER |
Updated: March 24, 2026
A screen-matched 2366 Type-2 phaser from Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek franchise. First introduced in Season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation and later used in Deep Space Nine and Voyager, the standard issue 2366 phaser variant wielded by many Starfleet officers featured a sharper angular design than those that came before and after it, earning it the nickname "Cobra Head." Phasers of this style notable for the gray paint finish on its phaser setting selector buttons appeared in the Season 6 TNG episode "Timescape." This phaser screen-matches to the scuffs and chipped paint on the sides and end.
This resin cast phaser was painted to appear metallic by Paul Pearson's Prop'er Effects studio for TNG. It features a grooved grip and a static button array on its top. Included is an acrylic display stand with a Starfleet insignia shaped base. The phaser exhibits paint flaking throughout and chipping to its buttons from production use and age. Dimensions: 8" x 2.25" x 1.75" ( 20.5 cm x 5.75 cm x 4.5 cm ).
Value: $5,000.
