Updated: July 27, 2023
Mark Hamill "Luke Skywalker" Stunt DL-44 Blaster from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back ( TCF, 1980 ). Vintage
original prop blaster constructed of fiberglass, painted to detail in black, silver and brown. Based on the German Mauser C96
pistol with sci-fi embellishments including targeting scope and prominent, flared muzzle. The DL-44 Blaster is the same model
used by Han Solo ( Harrison Ford ), yet Luke ( Hamill ) utilized this same style blaster in ESB. This prop weapon was built for
use in scenes where the hero, blank-firing weapon was not needed, including distance shots and when the gun was holstered.
Exhibits age and production wear including scuffing to finish, chipping to fiberglass, and two glued sections on the scope mount. Provenance: This blaster was originally gifted to the previous owner by Mark Hamill during the filming of a BBC children's show,
Jim'll Fix It, when the production visited the Dagobah set of Empire Strikes Back in 1979; then sold at Sotheby's, March 18, 1998,
Lot 48.
Value: $175,000.
