VOYAGE ORIGINAL COMIC ART #02 (STEVE WORON) |
Updated: August 25, 2004
In 1983 as a part of one of the first Independant comics companies; at
Spectrum Comics we were expanding our comic book line passed Survivors,
Guardian and Strike Force...
Growing up as a kid, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was one of my favorite
TV show and held a special place in my childhood's heart. Spectrum Comics was
in the negoiating stages to acquire Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea as a
monthly comic title some 15 years after Gold Key went under.
As a result I worked up a (long forgotten) series of drawings as samples.
This particular piece was to be a double-paged spread featured in the
first issue of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea #1 published by Spectrum
Comics.
A great, detailed and accurate rendering of the SEAVIEW. Remember when
letterers used to actually letter on the art pages? Several pages were
completed and some not so much. This is one of them
from circa 1983.
Original pencil art by SURVIVORS artist Steve Woron (not a copy). Voyage
art is impossible to find, nevermind unpublished art UNINKED! Art measures
approx 11X17" on art paper.
Value: $200.
