VOYAGE FLYING SUB AURORA KIT #02

Updated: March 17, 2024

This neat kit was first introduced in 1968 by the Aurora Model Company. It was reissued in 1975-79 with NEW box art. This all yellow plastic kit comes with interior, two figures, base, & decal.

Polar Lights will be reissuing this kit early next year 2002. Watch for it in hobby stores near you. The design of the "flying sub" was taken off a sting-ray. Producer Irwin Allen after seeing the draft drawings of the flying sub, decided to turn the artwork upside down, and that was the final decision on the flying sub. The new sub was introduced in the second season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in 1966-67. As with the space pod on Lost in Space also added in it's 3rd season. These two crafts proved to be quite interesting, and added a lot of excitement and drama to the shows.

Value: $500-Up.
