Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea is an American science fiction film, produced and directed by Irwin Allen, released by 20th Century
Fox in 1961. The story was written by Irwin Allen and Charles Bennett. Walter Pidgeon starred as Admiral Harriman Nelson, with
Robert Sterling as Captain Lee Crane. The supporting cast included Frankie Avalon as Lt. Chip Romano, Joan Fontaine as Dr. Susan
Hiller, Barbara Eden as Cathy Connors, Michael Ansara as Miguel Alvarez, and Peter Lorre as Commodore Lucius Emery. The theme song
was sung by Frankie Avalon. Movie Was Directed and Produced By Irwin Allen and featured Cinematography By Winton Hoch.
Movie premise as: When the Earth is threatened by a burning Van Allen Radiation Belt, US Navy Admiral Harriman Nelson plans to shoot
a nuclear missile at the Belt using his experimental atomic submarine, the Seaview. As time draws near and he has only two weeks to
get to a certain spot on the other side of the world, his crew begins to turn on him and there is a saboteur on board who is also
trying to kill him and destroy the ship.
