Original technical drawing of the B-9 Robot from Lost in Space. ( CBS-TV, 1965-68 ) A highly detailed, original hand drawn engineering design accomplished in pencil on vellum, featuring five views of the famous full-size Lost in Space B-9 Robot. This
rendering depicts five different views, including a cutaway with human operator ( actor Bob May ) inside, and various features of
the robot as conceptualized by legendary designer Robert Kinoshita, who also designed Robby the Robot for the feature film
Forbidden Planet.
This original blueprint master drawing would have been copied after approval by Irwin Allen and art directors Robert Kinoshita
and Jack Martin Smith, then distributed to the various Fox departments required to build the Robot. Measures 36 in. x 25 in. This
piece was originally sold at the February 26 & 27, 1996 Butterfield & Butterfield auction of Hollywood memorabilia.
