Hero Type-2 Phaser Pistol from Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan ( Paramount, 1979 / 1982 ). Vintage original phaser hand prop constructed of hollow cast resin, foil tape, brass badging, Lucite buttons, and mixed media components. All expertly assembled and painted in metallic sea foam green. Electronics are concealed in the grip, accessed by removing the grip bottom held in place with 2-screws. There is a switch on the bottom of the grip and a trigger button on the front of the grip. The etched brass plate on the top of the prop is studded with multi-colored LED lights, which would be illuminated by depressing the button trigger. This style of phaser was designed and created for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and subsequently used in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The prop measures 8" x 6" x 2.25" and exhibits age and production wear, including some paint chips, scuffing and loose tape trim. Electronics untested.
