Kleegat Weapon from Episode, "Friday's Child" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original throwing disc weapon prop constructed of fiberglass-coated carved wood, expertly painted in metallic gold with silver spike highlights. The prop is threaded with a length of copper wire and features 2-prong points on one of the spikes, presumed for FX and attachment to a target's surface. This style of weapon first appeared in the "Friday's Child" episode, used by tribal warriors on the planet Capella IV. The prop measures 8" in diameter x .75" width. Exhibited at the legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993. Exhibiting age, production wear, soiling and handling.
