Terran Empire Agonizer Device from Episode, "Mirror, Mirror" of Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original "Agonizer" device prop constructed of carved wood, "T" shaped base studio painted in industrial dove gray, with inverted triangular bud affixed to the front of the prop and painted pumpkin orange. The device is embellished with round steel studs at the
top and bottom and retains velcro on the verso for affixing to costumes. Visible in this classic episode, these devices were worn on the belts of the Imperial crewmembers in the "mirror universe" and used to inflict pain for minor offenses. Exhibited at the
legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993. Exhibiting age and minor production wear, including minor chips and scuffing to paint finish.
